Crockpot Cooking With A Dog In the House

When the weather gets chilly,there's nothing quite like cooking up comfort food, low and slow in the crockpot.

Unless, of course, you have a dog.

My day so far:

Scooter:   Mom!  I smell BEEF cooking!!
Me:  I'm making stew for dinner.
Scooter:  OMG I LOVE YOU CAN I HAVE SOME?
Me:  No, it's for later.
Scooter:  OMG I LOVE YOU CAN I HAVE SOME?
Me: No, I'm sorry, it needs to cook for a few more hours.
Scooter:  OMG I LOVE YOU CAN I HAVE SOME?
Me:  Honey, you have to wait. Go lay down!
[4 seconds later]
Scooter:   Mom!  I smell BEEF cooking!!

Repeat for 4-6 hours on High, 8-10 hours on Low.
