So many images playing in my head from the terror attacks on 9/11, most of them awful.

This one used to bring me comfort, back in the day. Now when I look at it, I still see the poignancy, but I also can't help but think about all of that toxic dust those guys are surrounded by.

I'll never forget my first visit to the World Trade Center, I'll never forget my last visit to the World Trade Center and I sure as hell can NEVER forget my visits to the site of where they once stood.

Heavy, heavy feelings.

I have driven past the site, Chief, but have not been able to bring myself to actually stand on the ground where the Towers used to be. We lost several friends in that attack, and had friends and family that worked on the rescue--and ultimately, recovery--efforts. It was a very dark time, and the stories were all so tragic, they continue to stay with me.
